Ase (usually pronounced as ah-shay) is a Yoruba word that has many meanings; it can be used as an affirmation, something like how Christians respond to statements of truth with, “Amen!” Ase also refers to the energy of divine creation, both universally and within an individual or spirit. Thus, it can also be used to describe the spiritual energy, natural gifts and talents, and willpower of an individual.
